Marvel Rivals features five game modes as of now, some being a lot more competitive and refined than others. The Doom Match Mode was released along with Season 1, and while it isn’t the most popular or competitive mode in the game, it can still be a lot of fun due to its chaotic and arcadey nature.

We’re going to tell you all you need to know about the Doom Match Mode in Marvel Rivals and give you some tips on how to win more games in this game mode.

What Is Doom Match Mode In Marvel Rivals?

Doom Match is an Arcade game mode in Marvel Rivals where 12 players compete in a free-for-all death match. The first player to get to sixteen takedowns wins this game mode. Except for cases where the timer of 10 minutes wears down, in which case all the players in the top half of the leaderboard are declared winners.

As it is meant to be an Arcade mode, Doom Match isn’t the most competitive or tactical game mode in Marvel Rivals. But it is still a lot of fun to play with your friends before hopping into the other modes. It also lets you pick any hero you want, although some abilities such as the Pentagram of Farallah of Doctor Strange and Invisible Woman’s Invisible Boundary aren’t usable in this mode.

You can also load up this game from the Practice menu in the game, which will put you in an hour-long lobby where you can just focus on having fun, rather than worrying about winning or losing.

On Which Map Does The Doom Match Mode Take Place?

The Doom Match Mode in Marvel Rivals takes place in Sanctum Sanctorum, which is part of the Empire of Eternal Night collection. This map can be a little chaotic at times due to its maze-like corridors and halls. It also includes portals, which add a lot of impact to the game mode and make it even more chaotic.

There are also plenty of outdoor open areas based on the streets of New York City, which gives you a lot more versatility in choosing your hero. The different parts of the map help add some aspects of strategy and tactics to it, even if the game mode is mostly about showing off your individual skill.

Tips And Tricks For The Doom Match Mode

Picking the right hero is just as crucial in this game mode as others. The long sight lines from the roofs of buildings can make this a great map for long-range heroes, who can target enemies from far away.

The best way to get as many takedowns as possible is to find two players fighting against each other and wait for them to wear each other down before stepping in and dealing the final takedowns. This is going to be the easiest way to secure more points, and while it may not be the most fun, it will definitely win you the most games if you pick your timings correctly.

This game mode also doesn’t have any self-healing, except for hero abilities, so the health packs scattered across the map can be a great way to regenerate health and it might be a good idea to take a break between fights to grab one of them.

    Recommended Heroes

Although you can do well with pretty much any hero, there are a few heroes that stand out in the Doom Match Mode in Marvel Rivals. Duelists should probably be your go-to choice as they excel in the aggressive and fast-paced environment but you can also choose to go with all-rounders depending upon your playstyle.

As such you can pretty much go for any of the below listed heroes as good picks in the Doom Match Mode:

    • Iron Man
    • Scarlet Witch
    • Luna Snow
    • Punisher
    • Winter Soldier

And that completes all the information you need on the Doom Match mode in Marvel Rivals. We also have detailed guides on how to play as Adam Warlock, as Storm, and how to counter Iron Man in Marvel Rivals.
