Season 7 is the newest update in the Diablo 4 series called the ‘Season of Witchcraft‘. This season is packed with a wide array of Quests in an all-new Questline series, and rewards with a focus on Coven’s and Witchcraft Spells. This latest season was released on January 21st, 2025. The main storyline of this Witchcraft season is to find out the mystery behind the stolen heads from The Tree of Whispers along with building a reputation in the Coven. In this guide, we will walk you through the full Season 7 questline in Diablo 4.
Starting The Season 7 Questline in Diablo 4
You will need to create a ‘Seasonal Character‘ and in case you own the ‘Vessel of Hatred‘ you will have to complete the prologue and progress in-game (the main campaign) to start Season 7 quests. Talking to ‘Gelena’ at the ‘Gea Kul’ waypoint will start Season 7. To date, there are a total of 10 quests in this new season. Let us have a look at them one by one.
Diablo 4 Season 7 Quest #1: Oaths and Debts
How To Start And Progress The Oaths and Debts Quest
Talk to Gelena at Gea Kul once you finish the Vessel of Hatred to start this quest. Follow the waypoint marker leading to Gelena and talk to her. Gelena offers you a ‘Witches Debt‘ (teaching of Witchcraft) in return for a particular head. Accepting the offer will begin the search for the head. Head over to the glowing area marked on your map.
Enter the ‘Overgrown Tenement‘ through the ‘Overgrown Door‘. Break open the ‘Overgrown Brambles‘ and interact with the ‘Exposed Roots‘ to progress. Doing this, you will be met with resistance, defeat the resistance, and survive the battle to progress further. You will encounter multiple Exposed Roots along your path.
Head to the end of the area, with a room containing an Exposed Root in the center. Defeat all the enemies and corpses attacking you in this area (this battle will be slightly tougher and longer). The Exposed Roots will keep getting bigger as you battle the enemies. An enemy boss called the ‘Enraged Headless Husk‘ will pop out of the Exposed Roots and you will have to defeat him at any cost to acquire the ‘Fugitive Head‘. Talk to Gelena again after acquiring the head.
How To Complete The Oaths and Debts Quest
Teleport to the ‘Tree of Whispers‘ in ‘Hawezar‘ with the acquired head. Talk to Gelena by the Tree of Whispers. Access the ‘Covens Favour‘ near the ‘Roots of The Tree’.
You will be rewarded with:

- 1600 Gold
Make your way a bit further and interact with the ‘Altar of Witchcraft’ to view Witchcraft power-ups available for purchase. Doing this will complete this quest.
Diablo 4 Season 7 Quest #2: In The Name Of The Tree
Head over to the Tree of Whispers in Hawezar and talk to Gelena, who introduces 2 NPCs ‘Caidin‘ and ‘Ouna‘. After a small cutscene, access the ‘Altar of Witchcraft‘ to progress further. Talk to Gelena again, to start In the Name of the Tree.
Teleport to ‘Yelesna’ in ‘Fractured Peaks‘ and follow the quest waypoint marker to enter the ‘Silent Roothold‘ at the ‘Silent House’. Once inside the dungeon, perform either 2 Rights, Rituals, or Ceremonies while making your way inside destroying all the enemies attacking you. You will have to uproot all Exposed Roots marked in the mini-map. The final Exposed Roots will spawn an enemy boss similar to quest #1 called the ‘Wicked Headless Husk‘. Upon defeating collect the ‘Belith’s Head‘.
Return to Tree of Whispers in Hawezar and, make your way to the coven. Talk to Ouna to complete the quest.

Diablo 4 Season 7 Quest #3: Poison In Roots
Meet and talk to Gelena at the Tree of Whispers to start the Poison In Roots quest. You will have to perform a ‘Ritual of Cleansing‘ in this quest by interacting with the ‘Covens Ritual Circle‘.
Gelena will start to prepare the Ritual, once ready, 3 ‘Ritual Braziers‘ will appear each near Gelena, Ouna, and Caidin. Interact with them anti-clockwise starting from the left. Each of them will pronounce different words of the Old Tree’s Name.
- You have to invoke the name in the following order: ‘Ayh’ > ‘Yew’ > ‘Oun’.
- After that, perform the ‘Nangari Sacrifice‘, and kill the 3 snakes on the ground to collect the three ‘Nangari Blood‘.
- Use the Nangari Blood to draw the ritual circle border.
Once you complete the circle, the area will be infiltrated with ‘Hollows’, you must not let them enter the ritual circle. After all the waves of the enemies are defeated, the ritual will be over. Talk to Gelena again, after a small cutscene the quest will be completed.

Diablo 4 Season 7 Quest #4: A Friend In Need
Head to the Tree of Whispers and talk to Caidin, after a small cutscene he instructs you to talk to Ouna. Follow the waypoint marker to find Ouna and talk to her. After a small cutscene, Ouna asks you to follow her in Scosglen.
Teleport to ‘Tiramair‘ in Scosglen and follow the in-game waypoint marker to reach Ouna. You will be met with resistance along the way. Interacting with Ouna will trigger a small cut scene. After the cut scene, make your way into the Bleeding Roothold.
You will have to perform either 2 Rites, Rituals, or Ceremonies while making your way further inside. Uproot all Exposed Roots while eliminating the enemies along your path. Navigate deeper into the Silent Roothold while killing all the enemies. Enter the ‘Heart of the Brambles’ and defeat the enemy boss called the ‘Enraged Headless Husk‘. Collect the ‘Falthane Head‘ and talk to Ouna after defeating the boss, the quest will end once a small cutscene plays.

Diablo 4 Season 7 Quest #5: The Crux Of The Rot
Make your way to the Tree of Whispers and interact with Caidin and Ouna. After a brief cutscene, talk to Ouna again. To start this quest, enter the Blistering Roothold by teleporting to ‘Gea Kul‘ in ‘Kehjistan’.
After teleporting, follow the waypoint marker in the mini-map and enter the Blistering Roothold. This quest requires you to perform 2 Rites, Rituals, or Ceremonies while inside Blistering Roothold. Keep making your way inside by clearing the dungeon of enemies while uprooting the Exposed Roots.
Enter the Heart of the Brambles to battle the enemy boss Enraged Headless Husk. After defeating the boss talk to Caidin. Collect the ‘Strange Talisman‘ and give it to Caidin. This will complete the quest.

Diablo 4 Season 7 Quest #6: The Burden Of Family
To start the quest, talk to Gelena at the Tree of Whispers near the Covens Ritual Circle. After a small cut scene, you must enter the Covens Ritual Circle and observe Gelena prepare the ritual circle.
3 Ritual Braziers will appear in front of Gelena, Caidin, and Ouna. Each of them will say a word representing The Old Tree’s Name. You will have to play those words in the order: Ayh > Yew> Oun (Gelena > Caidin > Ouna).
Trace the lines on the pentagram to connect the pentagram. Connecting the pentagram will spawn Headrotten, you have to defeat them. After defeating the Headrotten, you have to kill the spawned ‘Wicked Fugitive Head‘. After that find and talk to Caidin at the ‘Swamp of Vanished Souls‘. Talking to Gelena after finding Caidin will complete the quest.

Diablo 4 Season 7 Quest #7: Adrift In The Doldrums
Make your way to the Tree of Whispers, and speak with Gelena. Select the option ‘Any sign of Ouna?‘. After a brief cutscene, you need to meet Gelena near Ouna’s hideout place to start the Adrift In The Doldrums quest.
Teleport to ‘Zarbinzet‘ in Hawezar to meet Gelena. Follow the waypoint marker on your mini-map to reach Gelena. After interacting with her you have to find and destroy the ‘Shrouding Charm‘ which is on the west side of the hideout.
Enter and explore Ouna’s hideout. Survive and battle the attack by Headrotten. After the battle you will hear a woman singing, you have to find the source of the voice which is near the end of the cave. Interact with ‘Lilia, the Fugitive Head‘. And after a cutscene speak with Gelena to complete this quest.

Diablo 4 Season 7 Quest #8: A Witches Choice
Meet with Gelena at The Tree of Whispers and select the option ‘What has happened?‘ to start the ‘A Witches Choice Quest’.
Head over to ‘Vatha’s Hovel‘ to find and talk to Caidin in the wastes. Find and destroy the 2 Shrouding Charms which will be found in the glowing area of your mini-map and enter the Hidden Ritual Site. Follow the waypoint marker on your mini-map to find and confront Ouna. Destroy all the corpses to help Ouna recapture her loved ones.
Defeat the spawned enemy boss ‘Cunning Headless Husk‘, and speak with Caidin after winning the battle. Speak with Ouna after observing the Coven’s conflict to complete the quest.

Diablo 4 Season 7 Quest #9: The Grim Service
To start the Grims Service Quest, you have to interact with Gelena at The Tree of Whispers and have a conversation with her about Ouna.
Go over to Ouna’s grave which is close to where you just interacted with Gelena. Pick up the ‘Letter from Caidin‘ near the waterbody, and after a brief cutscene, the quest will end.

Diablo 4 Season 7 Quest #10: Whispers In The Wind
The Whispers In the Wind is a quest on its own whose completion will not directly affect the storyline of the other quests. Through this quest, you will acquire Grim Favours after completing certain quests which will be used to unlock other quests.
You will be awarded Grim Favours upon completing ‘Whisper of The Dead‘ which is similar to a daily event reward. You will also acquire Grim Favours easily by taking part in the new Season 7 event zone called the ‘Headhunts’ and you can exchange your Grim Favours for ‘Whisper Caches‘ at the ‘Raven of The Tree‘. Another way the Grim Favours can be used is by offering them to the Tree of Whispers (minimum 10) for receiving XP and Whisper Caches.
