The Ultimate Warrior Challenges are a great addition to Dynasty Warriors Origins and provide a great challenge for those who have already completed the game. The final battle of the first chapter against the Yellow Turbans & Zhang Jiao is tough enough as it is, and trying to complete it with the Ultimate Warrior Challenge makes it even harder.
This mission has two parts and is unlocked right after you finish the Battle of Guangzong. This article will tell you how you can complete the final battle against the Yellow Turbans as well as the Zhang Jiao Boss fight in Dynasty Warriors Origins in the simplest way possible.
Ultimate Warrior Challenge: How To Defeat The Yellow Turbans?

The Ulitmate Warrior challenge requires you to dispose of Zhang Bao’s force within 15 minutes. While this won’t be an easy challenge, it is certainly doable especially if you have the right gear and items prepped for it. You will also have to satisfy the mission’s victory conditions, ensuring that you defeat Zhang Jiao and that Zhu Jun or Huangfu Song aren’t forced to flee.
Recommended Setup
Although you can equip a variety of weapons and accessories depending upon your preference, the following setup worked best for us and is one the easiest ones to deal as much damage as possible and deal with the large Yellow Turban army as well as the final boss Zhang Jiao.
- Weapon – Fists of Divine Flux
- Arts – Stone Strike Blast, Elbow Strike, Spl Palm Strike, Mad Blade Rush
- Accessories – Lion’s Fang, Divine Turtle Shell
- Gems – Wellspring Gem
The Yellow Turban Battle

Most of the battle against the Yellow Turbans will be chaotic and messy. You will also be stuck on your own for most of it even though your allies will try to keep up as much as possible. Dealing with thousands of these enemies can be a little tough, especially as they will also come with a couple of Generals who can be tough to avoid.
Head to the northwest side until you come across the first large-scale battle. A good strategy is always to deal as much damage as you can to the large army and count on your allies to finish them off instead of wasting your time, which can be used to focus on the Generals. Huang Shao in particular, will be a hard General to deal with but you should try kill him so you can make it easier for your allies to catch up to you.
Once you have completed this part of the map, keep heading north until you come across a bunch of archers shooting you with arrows. You will find General Zhou Cang here and you should be able to defeat him with ease, which will stop the barrage of arrows. We recommend using the Battle Arrow tactic at this point and throughout several points in this mission, wherever you feel surrounded by enemies. This causes a whole lot of damage and saves a lot of time which is critical if you want to complete the Ultimate Warrior Challenge.
After defeating Zhou Cang, head east where you will come across Gao Sheng who is also fairly easy and quick to defeat. Next, head north towards the fort that has Zhange Mancheng and Zhao Hong. The best way to complete this section efficiently is also to damage the majority of enemies to at least 3/4th of their health, so your allies can finish them off easily after you leave.
Fighting Zhang Liang
Once you head to the top-right corner of the map, you will have to take on Zhang Liang in a one-on-one fight although he will summon Phantoms as well to try and stop you. Although you technically have five minutes to beat him, you will need to do it even quicker to make sure you’re on track to complete the Ultimate Warrior challenge.
Get as close to Zhang Liang as possible and dodge all the attacks you can before following up with your own combos. This fight should be pretty easy as long as you use your bravery and attack boosts efficiently. Just make sure to not spend too much time here as you will need some time leftover to be able to complete the last section of this mission within the given limit.
Fighting Zhang Bao

Zhang Bao and his large force will be the next obstacle in your path to completing this mission and while the size of his force might seem intimidating at first, you do not need to defeat them all to make progress. Just defeating one of his unnamed Generals will reveal the location of his Mystic Censer, which will be on the top left corner of the map. This Censer will be in the form of a large vase which you will be able to find after climbing up a ladder, and you need to destroy it to reveal the location of Zhang Bao.
Try to focus your attacks on Zhang Bao as much as you can without worrying too much about any of his soldiers. This battle will end as soon as you defeat him, which means his soldiers can be ignored for most of it unless they are getting in your way. Use your Battle Arts or anything else you need to to make sure you cause damage to Zhang Bao and he won’t be able to hold up for too long.
Defeating Zhang Jiao In Dynasty Warriors Origins

Zhang Jiao will be the final boss fight of this chapter and it won’t be an easy one at all, especially as you will have to defeat him within 7 minutes to win the Ultimate Warrior Challenge for this part of the mission. There are two phases to this mission and the first one will mostly revolve around parrying his rock attacks, which is easier said than done.
When Zhang Jiao enters his red mode, your best choice will be to run away as these are almost impossible to block. Try to get up close to him after he throws his rocks as he will be vulnerable during a short period and this can be the perfect opportunity to deal as much damage as possible. You will also be able to use your War God Rage when Zhang Jiao is low on health and it will help you lower his HP even quicker. You can also use your Musou to avoid his red attacks, which can be a much faster method than simply running away.
Phase two of this fight consists of dealing with the forces of Zhang Jiao as well as his lightning strikes. You will need to dodge these lightning strikes as soon as you see electric circles developing at the bottom of your feet as this is a sign that you are about to be struck.
The large forces of Zhang Jiao can be annoying to deal with, especially as you are restricted for time but you need to defeat them all first so you can take an easy one-on-one with Zhang Jiao. Your allies will also provide some assistance in this aspect but it will be up to you to be as quick and efficient as possible. Use everything left in your arsenal, from your Stone Strike Blast to your Mad Blade Rush once you are done dealing with his forces and you should be able to take out Zhang Jiao under the given time limit to complete the Ultimate Warrior Challenge.
