Clash Of Dancing Lions is the newest gamemode in Marvel Rivals and adds a fun, football, or soccer-like mode to the hero shooter game. While this mode doesn’t really play like any of the other gamemodes in Marvel Rivals, it can still be a lot of fun to play, especially if you are teaming up with your friends.

This article will tell you all about the Clash of Dancing Lions gamemode in Marvel Rivals, from how long it is available to some of the basic features like intercepting.

What Is The Clash Of Dancing Lions Mode In Marvel Rivals?

The Clash of Dancing Lions is a limited-time gamemode in Marvel Rivals that started on the 23rd of January with the introduction of the Spring Festival event. You can choose from up to three heroes including Black Widow, Iron Fist, and Star-Lord to play in 3 vs 3 games that play similarly to games such as Rocket League. Your objective as in all soccer games is going to be to score more goals than your opponent within the given time limit.

Scoring goals in Clash of Dancing Lions is quite simple and shooting the ball in the center of the goal gives you three points while shooting it toward the sides will only fetch you a single point.

This gamemode also feels similar to Lucio-Ball, which was a mode in Overwatch that was also soccer-based and shared similar mechanics and features. The stadium or the Wakanda World Arena is also quite similar to maps from Rocket League, with boost pads towards the edges of the arena.

You can use the three heroes and their altered abilities to perform various skills such as tackling, juggling, intercepting, and scoring. While the mechanics of this game aren’t fully fleshed out yet, and some parts of it can feel really frustrating, it is still pretty good for a limited-time gamemode, especially as you can also earn plenty of cosmetic items by playing it.

How To Intercept In Clash of Dancing Lions In Marvel Rivals

Interceptions are one of the most important mechanics in the Clash of Dancing Lions gamemode in Marvel Rivals, and they can be difficult to time correctly. Intercepting the ball means taking possession of it when two enemy players are attempting to pass it to each other or when one of them is dribbling it.

All you need to do to intercept the ball in Clash of Dancing Lions in Marvel Rivals is press the E button when you are in the middle of a passing lane, and if you feel you are close enough to successfully take possession of it. The best way to do this is to observe your enemies’ passing options and block them off at the correct time.

You can also intercept the ball by pressing Left Shift if you are using Iron Fist, who is probably going to be the best choice for interceptions due to his much larger animation size, which can make intercepting the ball easy. Wait for your enemies to get closer to the goal as they would have probably run out of their dashes at that point, and you will easily be able to intercept the ball off of them.

Just note that you cannot intercept the ball from your own teammates in Clash of Dancing Lions.

What Are The Rewards For Intercepting In Clash of Dancing Lions In Marvel Rivals?

As a part of the Fortune and Colours Event Missions in Marvel Rivals, one of your goals will be to intercept the ball three times in a game. This should be a fairly easy task if you coordinate well with your teammates or if you read your opponents and block their passing options.

Once you have completed this mission, you will be rewarded with a Danqing, which can then be used to unlock other items such as Star-Lord’s Lion Mane Skin. There is no given limit for how long this gamemode is going to last so we would recommend you complete this challenge as fast as possible so you don’t miss out on this amazing costume.

Another interesting mode to try out in Marvel Rivals is the Doom Match mode. Do give a look at our guide on how this mode plays in the game.
