The Hero of Justice DLC has not only added 11 new characters to Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero but also added three custom battles in the form of WHAT-IF story missions. While these missions aren’t as in-depth as we would like them to be, they are still cool additions that let you take the form of different characters and play some fun battles.
This article will tell you about these superhero WHAT-IFs in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero and how to complete them.
Unleash Beast Power

The first battle in the Hero of Justice DLC in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero lets you take on the superhero form of Gohan against Goku in what is supposed to be a friendly spar. Gohan has picked up some special abilities from his fight with Cell Max, that lets him unleash his Beast powers
The first part of the fight will be pretty normal, and you will have to just get a few hits and combos in until you can unlock his Beast powers. After you damage Goku a little bit he will ask you if you forgot how to transform. At this point you need to unleash Gohan’s Beast mode, otherwise you will lose the battle. This part is where the fight becomes a lot of fun, and you will have to take on an equally strong Goku with the help of many new abilities and different moves.
Most of this fight is pretty intuitive and a lot of the sequences will play out naturally no matter what you do, so all you can do is use your moves such as the Super Explosive Ray and Explosive Flash, and chain as many hits together as possible. You will eventually unlock his ultimate, the Special Beam Cannon, which will play out over a long cutscene and do a lot of damage. The fight will end soon after the final cutscene plays and you will be rewarded with EXP and 30000 Zeni.
Outshine Grandfather

This custom battle also contains set characters that you are forced to pick, which are Gamma 1 and Gamma 2. You will start off this battle against Android 16, and you will be able to switch between any of the two Gammas which will help you recover their health throughout the battle. Deal as much damage as possible to Android 16 and then switch to your other character whenever you are low on health.
The next fight will be against Android 17 and he will also be pretty easy to deal with as long as you keep switching between the twins and chaining attacks together. Just make sure not to use Gamma 2’s ultimate for any of these enemies as you should save it for the tougher ones. The next fight against Android 18 can be a little harder as she blocks a lot of the attacks thrown at her and does a lot of damage with her attacks as well. The key to this fight will be to get as close to her as possible and chain combos as much as you can as long-distance moves won’t be of much effect.
The next fight against Android 19 will be similar as well and you will have to make good use of Gamma 1’s moves such as the Gamma Impact if you want to deal with him. You can also use the Corebreaker or Gamma 2’s Ultimate here, as the last fight against Dr. Gero is going to be a lot easier.
While Android 20 or Dr. Gero does a lot of damage with his hits, his defense really isn’t that strong and you should have an easy fight as long as you manage to dodge his attacks and hit him with your own counters. Once you finish off Dr. Gero, you will be rewarded with 30000 Zeni and EXP.
Cell Max Games

The final custom battle in Dragon Ball: Sparking ZERO will allow you to pick 3 out of all the characters in the game. While there aren’t any specific characters that are the best, we recommend using characters with beam attacks as they seem to be the most effective against him.
The battle will be against Cell Max, who will have purple or reinforced health which will be very annoying to deal with. Even the strongest abilities won’t be able to bring down his HP by much and even Ultimates won’t be of that much use. The key to this battle is using beam attacks such as Blue Vegeta’s Gamma Flash and Trunk’s Final Flash until you can wear down Cell Max enough.
No matter how much damage you do to him, this fight will still be a grind and you will have to keep switching characters and dealing small bits of damage constantly throughout the long fight until you finally manage to wear him down enough to win. This fight will reward you with 35000 Zen and a lot of EXP.
