The Super Hero variant of Piccolo has finally been added to Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero with the Hero of Justice DLC. Many fans of this iconic character have been waiting for him to be added to the game since it was released and he does not disappoint at all.
This variant of Piccolo might just be one of the most fun characters in the game and he can be a great choice for your online games and other battles. This article will tell you all about Super Hero Piccolo and his moveset including his basic combos and special moves.
Piccolo Super Hero Basic Combos

Although the Super Hero variant of Piccolo shares many basic combos with other characters such as Gamma 1, his special moves are what really make him stand out. He is also valued at just 5 DP which means he can be paired up with stronger teammates in Versus and Online matches but he can still hold his own.
Combo Name | Input Moves | Usage |
Knock Back Blast | Melee Button x 1 and Ki Button | Releases a fire blast to knock enemies back |
Bicycle Kick | Melee Button x 2 and Ki Button | Hits the enemy with a flurry of consecutive kicks |
Gut Punch | Melee Button x 3 and Ki Button | Stuns your opponent for a few seconds |
Spin Kick | Melee Button x 4 and Ki Button | Spins around your opponent, making them vulnerable to attacks |
Piccolo Super Hero Special Moves

Super Hero Piccolo can require a good amount of skill to play if you want to utilize him to a high level. His special moves are very varied and range from long-distance attacks to some short and quick attacks as well. We will break down all of these moves and give you some tips on how you can best use him.
Wild Sense
Input : RT/R2 + Up on D-Pad
Wild Sense is a special move that costs just two skill points but allows you to automatically dodge your opponent’s next melee attack and then counterattack them. This can be a great move to use when you are on the defensive and want an opportunity to counter your opponents without any chance of failure. You can then follow up with other moves and keep the pressure on your opponent.
False Courage
Input: RT/R2 + Left on D-Pad
Similarly to Wild Sense, False Courage also needs to be used before you have engaged your opponent. This is also a defensive move that increases your resistance to incoming attacks for a short duration. This move can be especially good if you know your opponent is planning to launch a strong attack on you.
Full Power Energy Blast Volley
Input: RT/R2 + Melee Button
Full Power Energy Blast Volley is a long-distance attack that fires several consecutive energy blasts at attacks with all of them dealing moderate damage. This move works best when your opponent is staggered so it might be a good idea to hit them with a Gut Punch before it.
Full Power Rush
Input: RT/R2 + Ki Button
Full Power Rush is one of Super Hero Piccolo’s only short-range attacks and allows him to get up close to opponents by rushing directly at them. He then deals some damage while also slamming them to the ground if he lands successfully.
Light Grenade
Input: RT/R2 + Perception Button
The Light Grenade is Super Hero Piccolo’s Ultimate ability and consists of an energy beam that travels at a very high speed and does a lot of damage to his opponents. All you need to do is make sure your opponent won’t be able to dodge this attack as that can ruin your chances of winning your games. Try to stagger or stun them before you hit them with this Ultimate to give you the best chance of succeeding.
Piccolo Power Awakening Variant

The Super Hero version of Piccolo also has an upgraded Power Awakening variant which increases the damage caused by his combos as well as his special moves. Although most of his abilities remain the same, some of them do have different names and some different animations as well.
This Won’t End The Same Way
False Courage is replaced by This Won’t End The Same Way which is performed the same way and works similarly as well. Instead of just giving Piccolo a defensive buff, this move also increases all his damage output, which gives him a lot more offensive ability.
Explosive Ruin
Explosive Ruin replaces Full Power Energy Blast Volley and instead of firing energy beams at the opponent, it fires a huge boulder that does more damage. This ability is also an upgrade but doesn’t change much of the original one.
The names of the last couple of special moves such as Full Power Rush and Light Grenade have also been replaced with Chou Magougeki and Special Beam Cannon but these abilities are still pretty much the same, just with increased damage output and different animations.
