Eternal Strands is a great mix of a typical action-adventure game with plenty of RPG elements combined with it. Like every good RPG, this game also has a dedicated crafting system which you can use to craft gear, and weapons and upgrade your items.
This article will tell you everything we know about the crafting system in Eternal Strands as of now; including some tips on how you can get the best out of your resources.
How To Start Crafting In Eternal Strands
You can start crafting in Eternal Strands once you have unlocked the Camp area featuring Casmyn and his Caravan. There are plenty of ways you can craft material here and you will also be given a small tutorial in-game about how to start off and upgrade materials.
Although the crafting system in this game can look extremely complicated at first, it is actually very simple when compared to most other RPGs out there. Starting from Sola’s Forge in the Upgrade Station we are going to break down the materials you need to craft items in Eternal Strands and what else you can do with them.
What Are The Different Types Of Crafting In Eternal Strands?
At Sola’s Forge in the Caravan area in Eternal Strands, you can perform the following actions :
- Craft
- Reforge
- Upgrade Equipment
- Dismantle
Crafting consists of crafting gear such as swords, shields, armor etc. These items can be crafted by using materials such as Tanned and Woven Resources and many others which can be found throughout your adventures in the city of Dynevron.
Once you have selected the item you want to craft, fill out all the resources or materials required to craft it. Once you have chosen the required materials, you can simply press the Craft button to create the item and then equip it. The materials you use will determine the stats of the gear as well as its cosmetic look.
If you gain better Material in the future, you can simply head to Sola’s Forge again and use the Reforge feature to reforge your items. You will eventually gain better Material as you fight better monsters and explore the world more and you can slowly keep upgrading your items as you progress in the game. When you replace Material, you also get an indication as to how the weapon/gear stats change before you go ahead and reforge – again, super useful and convenient.
You will mostly use items such as Leather or types of Ores to craft your gear and a good way to increase their drop rates is to use Fire-based spells to kill enemies to receive Ores and Ice-based spells to receive Leather.
Upgrading in Sola’s Forge works similarly to Reforging but rather than replacing older Materials for newer ones as in the case of Reforging. Upgrading requires you to submit more of the same Material to increase the stats of a particular item.
Dismantling is also a very useful option in Eternal Strands as you can regain all your resources if you don’t want to use an item anymore. This can let you re-use your resources wisely and make items and gear for short durations based on your needs. This is also a great way to experiment, since you don’t have to worry about losing resources and ending up with gear that you don’t use.
Be mindful when Salvaging gear…while Salvaging resources gives other useful ingredients that can be used as part of other recipes, some of the resources themselves are also part of other recipes.
Upgrade Stations
Although Sola’s Forge is the only crafting station in the game, there are also other Upgrade Stations that can be used to produce a variety of items that aren’t just limited to weapons. The four Upgrade Stations in Eternal Strands are :
- Casmyn’s Caravan
- Sola’s Forge
- Laen’s Archive
- Dahm’s Atelier
Casmyn’s Caravan will be used by you throughout the game to equip and change your gear and other items, which cannot be swapped out on the battlefield. You can also use it to salvage resources to upgrade further.
Dahm’s Atelier can be used to upgrade your magic powers by using resources such as Strands. Magic is a big part of the game and these will be of much use to you throughout your time in Eternal Strands.
Laen’s Archive can be used to build your Codex, which can help you find more information about the game’s creatures and resources.
