Like any other good RPG, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 offers various side quests to the player. But unlike other games, these don’t just earn you a few extra gold to spend. They also help you gain reputation in a province, and the NPCs always remember that you helped them. In this guide, we will go over the side quest called “Mice” .
How To Start The Mice Side Quest In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

You need to talk to innkeeper Prochek in Tachov to get this quest. Interact with him and ask him about what is happening in the area. After exhausting all his dialogue, he will ask you about a ‘peculiar’ job, and if you’re interested in it. He will explain the rivalry between the residents of Tachov and Zhelejov, and how the people of that town have been “a pain in the backside”. Remember, if you wish to side with Zhelejov later, you will lose the option to do so upon accepting this quest.

You need to paint Olbram’s bull in Zhelejov in order to complete this quest. However, it is not as easy as it sounds. According to Prochek, the bull is not easy to tame, which is why you need to complete a few prerequisites beforehand.
Sleeping potion

First of all, you need to get a sleeping potion called Lullaby to calm the bull down. You can get it from the blacksmith Radovan, who is also located in Tachov. Talk to him and tell him you need something to calm down an animal. If you have been an apprentice of his, he will give away the recipe to you. If not, you will either have to buy it off him, or help him in exchange.

You need Poppy, Thistle, and Herb Paris to prepare the Lullaby potion. Head to Troskowitz and use the alchemy bench in Apothecary Emerich’s courtyard. If you are missing any ingredients, you can buy it from him. Depending upon your Alchemy skill, you might have to prepare it twice, since you need three of them for the quest, and basic alchemy only makes two.
Paint Bottles

Now head over to Tailor Bartoshek and ask him about some paint. He will offer it you for 60 groschen, but if you don’t want to pay, you can avoid that with a successful skill check. Be honest and tell him you want to paint Olbram’s bull when he questions you. Additionally, remember not to interrupt him while he goes passionately about paints and dyes, and he will give it to you for free after the conversation ends.
Using the Potion

Travel to Zhelejov and go towards the objective marker to find the bullpen. Pour the potion in the bull’s trough, located just left of the entrance of the bullpen. If you are having trouble finding it, visit Zhelejov during daytime, and you will see Elishka sitting next to the bullpen. You must now wait until the bull falls asleep. I skipped the time to 20:00, since it is then that it starts getting dark.
Painting the Bull

Choose what you want to paint on the bull. After you have done that, go back to Prochek and inform him about the completion of the task. He will give you a reward and the quest will be finished.
He will ask you for another favor once everything is done, and accepting it will start the Battle of Frogs and Mice quest. However, if you also have the Frog side quest but didn’t complete it, it will fail here.
