The best farming location in the early game is in Magicite Mine, between the Floral Cavern and the resting place below it. You can either start from the resting place or from the cavern, all you need to do is get to the other destination. While navigating through these points, you can also gather materials necessary to get items from the merchant shop.
Starting from the Floral Cavern, go right and kill all the enemies along the way until you reach a lever. Activate it to bring up a platform, and use it to go all the way down. Eliminate all the enemies here, and you will notice that the path to your right is closed, so proceed to the left path. Fight the enemies along the way, and head down from the slope. You will eventually reach a dead end, so jump down to reach the resting place.
Interacting with resting places respawns all the enemies in the area. So head back to the Floral Cavern then rinse and repeat the process. You will eventually notice yourself not leveling up anymore, which means you have reached your current level cap, so its time to get on with the main story.
An additional tip for farming is always to break any glowing boxes you see along the way, as they contain useful materials for crafting.
