Thorns are the most reliable weapons in Freedom Wars Remastered, as they’re always going to be by your side. These Thorns are lasso-type weapons that can be used to do various acts, such as trap enemies, heal allies, or even grapple and leap closer to enemies.

There are three varieties of Thorns in Freedom Wars Remastered, and players start off with the most basic version already unlocked. To unlock the other two Thorns in the game, all you have to do is follow the instructions given below.

You can unlock the other Thorns in Freedom Wars Remastered by reaching CODE Level 3 in-game. This is easily achievable by progressing the main story and shouldn’t take you more than a couple of hours. After you have reached this level, you can follow the instructions given below to equip these thorns.

    • Open the Window of Liberty in your cell
    • Click on the ‘Claim Entitlements’ tab at the top of the screen
    • Open the ‘Thorn Types’ Menu
    • This menu will have options for the two new Thorns, which you can then purchase for 100 Entitlement Points each
    • You can then equip these Thorns by heading to your Loadout menu.

Along with being able to grapple and grab enemies, the Thorns in Freedom Wars Remastered also have certain bonus abilities which can make them even more fun to use. The three types of Thorns and their special or charged-up skills are listed below:

    The Binding Thorn

The most basic Thorn in the game, the Binding Thorn is best used to lay traps and stun enemies. These traps are called snares and can tie up Sinners and even Abductors. The Binding Thorn’s special ability is that it can drag down the Abductors even faster which makes it a pretty handy weapon to have by your side.

    The Healing Thorn

Along with performing tasks such as grappling and grabbing like any other Thorn in the game, the Healing Thorn can also be used to restore the health of team members by throwing a healing charge at them or by attaching the thorn itself to them, which will slowly heal and recover their health bar. The special power of this Thorn is that it can also let players drop a healing thicket, which slowly restores the health of all allies and the player itself as long as they are in its range. Just note that the thicket can easily be destroyed by enemies as well as allies.

    The Shielding Thorn

The Shielding Thorn in Freedom Wars Remastered can be used to enhance the defense of your team. This Thorn can also be attached to an ally, to enhance their defense even at distances. The charged-up ability of this Thorn is its power to create a wall or a barrier, which can deflect small as well as heavy bullets.
