Warner Bros recently announced their partnership with CurseForge to bring official mod support to Hogwarts Legacy. With the help of their very own Creator Kit and in-game Mod Manager, Portkey Games have let the community run their imagination wild. Players have been asking for mod support since the game released, and the devs have finally answered their prayers. Here are the 10 best mods that you should try in Hogwarts Legacy today!
How To Use Mods In Hogwarts Legacy

As the mods are officially supported, you don’t need to download any third-party software to run them. When you load up your game after the update, you will see an extra option on the main menu called “Play Mods”. The update and all the mods are entirely free, so you can choose any one at any time.

After you click on “Play Mods”, you will be taken to the mod management screen where you will see mods broken down into several categories like characters, visual, fashion, etc. Choose a category and a mod of your liking, and either add it to favorites, or directly install it. Installing a mod will store it in the “Library” section. After you are done installing the mods you need, go to “Enable Mods” to apply them in-game.
To use the mods, you need to make a fresh copy of an old save file. Hover over the newly made save file and it will show you the mods that are currently active. This helps you distinguish between modded and non-modded save files.
10 Best Mods to Try in Hogwarts Legacy
Cheat Plus

This mod is created by MoxxyHaven and is a very useful quality of life mod. Upon pressing the Insert key, it opens up a menu that
- Can turn you invincible
- Can disable detection
- Provides Super Jump
- Gives an infinite amount of money
- Identifies gear on the spot
Additionally, and this is the best part – it has a shop option that has all the items from every NPC in the game. You can also access the shop items of a specified NPC if you wish to do so. No longer do you need to hear “sometimes it feels all roads lead to Hogsmeade” for the 100th time. Talk about efficiency!
Dragon Brooms

This mod is created by infitumentllc. Hogwarts Legacy players have been on a kind of a rant about this from the beginning. The amount of beasts that could take you into the sky was limited, even with third party mods. However, the Dragon Riding mod allows you to mount a majestic dragon that soars high up in the air. It is actually a modded version of a broom, which means it is also faster than other mountable beasts in the game. There are three dragons you can choose from, and all have different wing animations based on your “broom” speed.
Dekita Battle Pets

This mod is created by DekitaRPG. This mod adds a system of customizable pet companions, that can aid you during fights. They can be easily accessed via your field guide, and have surprisingly advanced progression mechanic. It features normal pets that you can train, and magical beasts that each consist of their own unique abilities. Once you activate this mod, you will see a new tab called “Pet” in your field guide, where you can assign abilities and train them to max out their potential.
Staves for Wands

This mod is created by infitumentllc, and it replaces your standard wands with fancy staves. Pressing Shift + Page Down will let you swap between several stave designs, and each of them looks equally amazing. Additionally, casting Lumos creates points of lighting at several points on the stave which adds to its charm.
Cliffan’s Outfits and Accessories

This mod is created by Cliffan_. This mod adds a lot of new and stylish outfits to the game, which includes accessories. You can equip unique items like rings, necklaces, bags, etc., a feature that is definitely lacking in the vanilla version of the game. It allows you to customize your character even further, adding more personality and immersion.
Instant Potion Brewing

This mod is created by MoxxyHaven. Players quickly started getting annoyed about the potion brew times in Hogwarts Legacy, even if it made sense immersion-wise. Always needing to visit the Room of Requirement, and then waiting for up to 1 min 15 sec for your potions to be prepared wasn’t something the community favored. This mod decreases the brew time of every potion to a mere 1 second, so you can visit the RoR, quickly get your potions, and immediately head out instead of running in circles or playing around with Transfiguration.
Increased Gear Capacity

This mod is created by MoxxyHaven. Are you tired you going around the map completing those pesky Merlin Trials? We surely are. That is why we recommend the Increased Gear Capacity mod, which increases your capacity to 520. Now you can always loot every chest while doing quests, without the worry of overburdening.
Sam’s Dungeon

This mod is created by SGoldWB. This is an entirely new quest full of puzzles, enemies, and rewards. It is an excellently crafted dungeon, that incorporates all the elements of the game into a fun, action-packed sequence.
No Spell Cooldowns

This mod is created by SGoldWB. Even though having cooldown on spells is balanced game-wise, it really breaks the immersion of being an unstoppable wizard. Yes, it is possible to juggle your cooldowns in the game for minimum cooldown period, but this mod lets you use all the spells without any cooldowns. Want to use Arresto Momentum on three enemies at once? Go for it. Want to Bombarda multiple enemies back to back? Go for it!
Alohomora Auto Solve

This mod is created by SGoldWB. Most of the community would agree with us when we say the Alohomora mini-game was completely unnecessary. It is a spell that automatically opens locks according to books, movies, and even previous Harry Potter games. This mod makes the game closer to the source material, by completely removing the mini-game mechanic. However, you still have to collect the demiguise statues to level up Alohomora.
