Influence is a form of currency in Civilization 7 that is used to improve or dominate relationships with other players and States. Most diplomatic actions in the game require Influence and you will need to earn a lot of it if you want to make any form of progress. There aren’t too many ways to earn a lot of Influence in Civilization 7 but this article will tell you about most of them.

    Earning Influence In Civilization 7

Earning Influence should be one of your main goals in Civilization 7 as it is the key to your relationships with other Leaders. You can perform actions such as expanding Trade Routes, increasing War Support, and much more if you have enough Influence. Influence also increases over time and it will keep growing in your Influence Counter if you don’t use it in a particular turn.

Many of the ways you can earn Influence in Civilization 7 include:

    Using Diplomatic Attributes

One of the easiest ways to increase your Influence gain is by using the Diplomatic Attribute tree in the Leader Attributes section. You can spend your Diplomatic Attribute Points or Wildcard points here to unlock certain Attributes that will allow you to earn Influence passively or increase your Influence count.

Some of the Attributes you can unlock include increasing the percentage of Influence gained by Befriending Independent powers, receiving Influence on accepting or rejecting certain Diplomatic actions, and gaining extra Influence per age on the Palace.

    Convert Towns To Hub Towns

Another simple way to earn some extra Influence is by converting your Towns to Hub Towns. You can simply choose the Hub Town option in the Town Focus menu once your Town has started growing and it will convert it into a Hub Town.

A Hub Town receives an extra +2 Influence for each one of the Settlements it is connected to. This means that you can earn a lot of Influence if your Town is in a central location and is connected to many other Settlements including Cities or Towns.

    Using Social Policies

There are a lot of Social Policies that can increase your Influence count but they can be increased further if you research the right Civics. The Oratory Civic is one such example that gives you +2 Influence per turn and is unlocked by researching the Code of Laws in the Antiquity Age.

You can take a look at all the Social Policies in the game and decide which ones you prefer the most to gain extra Influence. These can also be swapped in and out anytime so you will be able to choose whichever ones suit your needs the most at a specific time.

    Engage In Endeavors With Leaders

Another quite simple way to earn some extra Influence in Civilization 7 is by engaging in specific Endeavors with other Leaders. You will often get some Endeavors that other World Leaders will invite you to support and you can accept them to gain a significant amount of Influence.

You can also choose to use certain Leaders such as Harriet Tubman and Machiavelli who either gain extra Influence for certain actions or can get certain percentages off on some actions that require Influence. This can be a helpful suggestion in the long run but you should only focus on choosing these leaders if your ultimate goal is just to raise your Influence.

    Build Special Buildings

Producing Special Buildings such as Wonders will be crucial to gaining more Influence in Civilization 7. Although they may be tough to create, not only do these Wonders guide you towards a Cultural Victory but they also provide a good amount of Influence. For example, in the Antiquity Age, the Monument gives you +1 Influence, the Garden +1 Influence and the Villa +2 Influence.

Your ability to create these Wonders also depends on the Civilizations you choose; some of them, such as Han, will have the best options across all ages. Some Wonders are also better than others at granting Influence. The Weiyang Palace for the Han Civilization gives +6 Influence, for example.

    Use Narrative Events

You will come across Narrative Events during every age in the game and some of them will provide you with a lot more Influence than others. There will be certain events that will reward you with a lot of Influence and you should ideally pick these to increase your total.

You won’t always receive Influence as a reward in these events and there is always a chance you have a choice between other resources such as Gold or Food but you should always go for Influence whenever you have a choice.
