Captain Thomas is the first new character you meet introduced in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. You encounter him and his entourage during your initial journey to Trosky, where he stops you and the game gives you the skill check tutorial. During the quest “For Whom The Bell Tolls”, it is revealed that Thomas has suffered serious injuries from bandits plundering the area, and is on the verge of death.
You need to save Sir Hans in this quest, and Thomas is the only one who can confirm that he is indeed a nobleman. You must find and cure him so that he can tell everyone about this information, which might give Hans a fighting chance. This guide covers the most risk-free way to get to Thomas and how to cure him.
How To Get To Thomas Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

You must reach the chapel at top of the Maiden tower inside Trosky castle to get Thomas. However, you don’t have your gear and equipment in this quest, as you are still considered a convict and need to serve your punishment. Go into the outer courtyard, and pickpocket Hired Hand Kabbat for a lockpick. Now head up from the stairs where Vuytek and Bathhouse owner Magda are talking, turn right and go up another stairs to get into the kitchen.

Here you will see Chamberlain Ulric, who seems to be sick. Ask him about his health issues, and Henry will offer to help. Pass the skill checks here, and you will have free access of the inner courtyard and the Crone tower. You need to get a digestive potion for the Chamberlain to solve his stomach ulcers. Make your way into the inner courtyard and into the Crone.

Tell the guard here that Ulric sent you, and he grants the permission to go upstairs. Keep going up until you reach the end of stony stairs, and enter Scribe Erazim’s room here. Pickpocket or knock him out, and get his keys. Open the chest on the left for the Fever Tonicum potion, which will be used later.

Continue ahead through the red door, then take another door to your right. Here you will find Katherine, the girl from the pond, snooping around a chest. Have a conversation with her, and passing skill checks allows you to gain useful information from her. She will tell you the surgeon has some medicine across the room, but it is ‘tightly locked’. This indicates that it is a hard difficulty lock. Lockpick the chest and you will find:
- Digestive Potion
- Fever Tonicum
- Weak Saviour Schnapps
- Weak Marigold Potion

Since the number of lockpicks you have is limited, you might not want to risk it. It is also the reason we got Fever Tonicum earlier. Go back to the room where Katherine was, and lockpick the Very Easy chest here. It contains a lot of ingredients, so brew up a digestive potion with the alchemy table beside it. The image above shows the exact recipe in case you don’t have it. You might also want to brew some savior schnapps while you are at it.

Return to the Chamberlain and give him the potion. Henry then requests him to explore the Maiden Tower, which he accepts. You now have free access to the Maiden Tower as well, so you can now visit the chapel and Captain Thomas. The first set of stairs is right in the kitchen, take it and keep going upstairs until you reach a wooden corridor with a door at the end.

Enter through the door and go up the stairs again, where you will find Thomas lying on a bed with his sister Adela beside him. This is where Fever Tonicum comes into play – talk to Adela and inform her that you have a potion that might help him. This will trigger the end of the quest cutscene and Lord Von Bergow’s introduction.
