Tsuruko Semba is a semi-healer character in Tribe Nine who specializes in dealing AoE damage while also keeping her party alive. She demands to be played in a mixture of playstyles, switching between dishing out damage and providing heals. If you are struggling to learn how to play her, we have you covered.
How To Play Tsuruko Semba In Tribe Nine

The main ability that allows Tsuruko to stand out from the rest of the support roster is her versatile healing and damage-dealing potential. She has a gauge called the Twilight Embrace, that consists of 100 stacks, which can be filled up with primary and secondary attacks. Let us take an in-depth look at Tsuruko’s skills and abilities.
- Importance of Reading: This skill has three phases that are listed below.
- Primary Fire: Her primary fire is a three-attack combo, that fills a moderate amount of gauge.
- Secondary Fire: Fires a huge projectile forward, consuming a lot of stamina but also filling up a huge amount of gauge.
- Counter Attack: Fires a blast that fills small amount of gauge.
- Finishing Touch: This is her strategy skill that summons two damaging dragons from under the target at the cost of 55 gauge stacks.
- Invigorating Surge: Her ultimate skill consumes three tension bars to deal huge AoE damage, and gives the “Turning The Tide” buff to your party members which heals them when they drop below 50% health.
- Unending Twilight: The bread and butter of Tsuruko’s kit – an AoE effect that is automatically placed at the target at full gauge. Heals her and party members based on a percentage of damage dealt. The max health that can be recovered here is 10% of the total HP for each of the party members.
General Gameplay Tips
Tip #1
You can dodge attacks if you sprint while using your secondary attack. This puts you into a ‘slide’ animation and creates significant distance between you and the target. Use this technique to get out of enemy AoE abilities that cannot be countered.
Tip #2

After the Unending Twilight comes into play, Tsuruko can reposition it by using her secondary fire. This opens up new possibilities and ensures that her party members are never out of healing. It also sets up perfectly for more of her skills, which we will discuss below.
Tip #3

Her strategy skill deals five instances of damage instead of the traditional one instance when it is cast inside Unending Twilight. Therefore, unless it is absolutely necessary, avoid using the dragons without first putting UT down.
Tip #4
Her ultimate is very powerful, but has a wind-up animation before the effects are applied. Stay behind your tank or completely reposition if you are in danger before casting it. If you die during the animation, the ultimate charge is consumed but the effect won’t be implemented.
Tsuruko Semba Builds
Tsuruko has two passives that cater to two types of playstyles.
Passive Skill Expansion 1: Increases HP recovered when attacking in Unending Twilight. Scales with her attack and support stats. You must go for monsters that have an outgoing healing effect as sub stats to get the increased recovery effect. Some effects you can choose are:
- Ultimate Skill Efficiency
- Shield Resistance
- Defense Enhancer
- Maximum Stamina Enhancer
Passive Skill Expansion 2: Cannot heal in Unending Twilight but causes Secondary Fire and Strategy Skill to dish out an additional attack. The damage of this attack scales with her support stat. This time, choose monsters that give the ‘berserk’ set piece bonus. Some effects you can choose are:
- Critical Damage Multiplier
- Critical Rate Enhancer
- Attack Damage Enhancer
- Maximum HP Enhancer
